New Dating Platform Helps Principled Conservatives Tie the Knot

Outlier is Aimed at Helping Berkeley Republicans Find Each Other

With only 2.7% of Berkeley voters choosing Republican as their party affiliation, it can feel lonely for principled conservatives seeking romance. A new dating platform is looking to change that by enabling Berkeley Republicans to find each other. Outlier was conceived by the developers of FarmersOnly.com who specialize in the niche romance market. The sponsors note “our brand’s value proposition is finding individuals of similar interests and ensuring the honesty and integrity of those people. We saw finding principled conservatives in Berkeley and enabling them to connect to be among our greatest challenges.”

Bill Buck, Outlier’s lead developer, indicated the “principled conservative” is an extremely challenging demographic especially in Berkeley. Our market research taught us that a sizable portion of that 2.7% were “rabble rousing liberals” that were attempting to screw Republicans in the primaries. Apparently, they are to stoned to figure out republican registration is no longer necessary given California’s open primary.

We also considered “no party preference” voters figuring this would attract centrists. Unfortunately, we discovered a large portion of this demographic is disgruntled Bernie voters who refuse to identify as Democrat. The 0.4% of the city’s Libertarian voters appeared a bit more promising. Libertarians are able to register on the site provided they pass a screening questionnaire to discern an underlying belief in markets and the virtues of free enterprise.

I just want to be able to tell someone I believe in capitalism and not be ostracized. Outlier created a really safe space.

Miss Heritage

Based on interviews with site users, Outlier serves to fill a void. A user who goes by the screen name Miss Liberty noted, “Before Outlier, I use to hang out at the Permit Service Center. My thinking was after getting jacked around and shaken down for a zoning or building permit people would be jonesing to jump on the conservative bandwagon. Unfortunately, Mr. Right never appeared. However, Outlier changed all that, the long mornings in downtown Berkeley are over. Now its Manhattans at the Mel-O-Dee or poker at the Oaks Card Room. In fact, I have met all three Republicans in my council district.”

Miss Heritage explained how Outlier allows principled conservative to feel safe “opening up” while dating. “I just want to be able to tell someone I believe in capitalism and not be ostracized. Outlier created a really safe space.”

Both Miss Liberty and Heritage were able to eventually tie the knot thanks to Outlier. Their message to others seeking romance, “look there are two less conservatives out there; get them before they disappear entirely.”
